Morning Fly Out
Shortly before sunrise, thousands of geese took flight almost simultaneously.
Experiencing the dawn fly out at this location is an awe-inspiring event.
There were 40,000 geese overwintering at Bosque last week. At dawn, they arose together as if on some primordial cue.
The sound they made as thousands of wings beat and the geese called out revealed a power of nature that stirred the soul.

The surrounds of the dam have a population of huge Eastern Grey kangaroos photographed into the sun through thick fog rising from the water.

I shot this image of elephants crossing in front of a waterhole at sunset. I chose a dark exposure, obscuring the elephants, focusing the composition on the sunset skies and the elephants’ reflections.

Under The Storm
Last night I went out behind our home and had the pleasure of watching these young deer play on this hillside. This huge storm cloud moved in right behind them. The cloud did not produce anything but the scene was very cool to witness.
